Taps for connectors will be made and filter head will be installed together with new fuel lines and injectors. Owner's preference is to nickel plate fuel rails.
Visualization
I
Visualizing ideas comes easier to some than others. With this in mind and if necessary, GP can provide renderings of what's being conceived. This can be as simple as a quick sketch to express a rough impression of the finished product, or, the presentation can be done to very realistic standards via computer rendering. Ideas can also be modeled to scale. Rendering work is done by a Porsche contact that does this sort thing. GP makes the introduction and steps out but for engineering input if needed.
Materials & Processes
I
Just about everything can be altered in form and finish. Skill and material knowledge is required. When something needed doesn't exist, it can be made.
Modified AC control unit developed for Porsche center console. Arduino-driven, unit features 2 1/2" LED displaying various temps and control settings. System operates off temp & humidity sensors placed inside evaporator, outside car, and inside cabin. Above: Presentation with option to include 2 paddle switches between stock Porsche AC control knobs. Below: Build in progress. Dimmer switch is incorporated so display does not annoy at night. Leather covered module fits into existing console cubby.
Low milage Motronic-driven engine has replaced high milage CIS-driven engine in this "modification." Alternative to this mod was to rebuild CIS engine. The owner is very pleased with the move from CIS to Motronic.
Turbo Modification
There are any number of ways to turbo charge an existing normally aspirated Porsche engine. At left is an exposed version where the turbos---twins in this case---are positioned at the very rear of the car where the bumper used to be. This is an aggressive design/build solution given both turbos and their plumbing are exposed. The downside to this is there being no rear-end protection. Were another car to even slightly hit the rear of this car, damage to the custom work here would be painful. Turbo mods are more typically embeded with the engine ahead of the rear bumper. Adding boost sensibly requires other modifications to support the increased power output an engine creates under boost.

PORSCHE NOTES:
The 935 was Porsche's factory racing version of the 930 prepared for FIA-Group 5 rules. Introduced in 1976, the 935 became one of the most successful racing cars in history. Originally configured with fender mounted headlights, Porsche discovered a rules loophole concerning fender modifications and subsequently redesigned the car's leading edge to minimize drag and increase downforce. The result was the "slantnose."
Protective modification is installation of on-board camera(s). Purpose being to record who-did-what in the event your Porsche is damaged. Typically installed looking forward, adding a rear-looking unit takes coverage a step further. To be very aggressive, side units can be included.
Porsche Restoration & Modification
GP restoration is for owners that don't require every nut & bolt to be refinished, and the body taken to raw metal while on a rotisserie. That level of work is for a dedicated restoration shop. Instead, GP offers owners with classics the service, skill & experience to restore "somewhat worn" Porsches to excellent form. This entails rebuilding the engine & transmission if needed, removing prior owner mystery-mods, replacing old, unreliable and nonfunctioning parts as called for, cosmetic attention inside & out, and attending function needs so the car---in whole---is returned to dependable, system-wide working order. And appearances car-wide suggest an extremely well kept Porsche. The investment here is specifically suited to an owner planning to keep their Porsche for the long term. Jump to Mod / Modification.
Customer's idea for a rear lid scoop. What has yet to be studied is air flow in that area of a Targa. Until air-flow patterns are known at various speeds, and air intake numbers are calculated, this is an interesting idea the value of which has yet to be proven.

1979 Porsche 930. This resto is "extensive" in mechanical and cosmetic terms. It is NOT a "rotisserie" restoration. Much of the car and engine were unmodified so returning it to very near original form---as was the owners goal---was a relatively simple matter. Rebuild of engine & transmission restored performance to like new. Minor remnants from prior owners modifications were removed to eliminate future questioning. Electrical issues were corrected so that all the car's lighting works as it did when leaving the showroom. All systems were refreshed and brought to correct & reliable working order. Interior was redone with upholstery done in full grain leather. Worn trim and exterior lenses were replaced with new. Missing rubber bits were installed. Worn paint was refinished according to the original paint code---custom blended to match the car's existing paint color. Worn stickers were replaced adding to the car's fresh look. The outcome is not only a classic Porsche that has an amazing appearance, mechanically it now stands in prime form.

Porsche Mod / Modification
Regarding modification, GP can offer valuable advice based on 30+ years attending both street and track Porsches. And, the mechanical engineering expertise needed to guide solutions so they'll work & last. Depending on the mod, GP may accomplish the build for the owner if this is what is sought. Consult with GP in advance.
